One Of My Biggest Inspirations! Amanda Hocking

Letter from Amanda

Hi –

All three books in the Trylle trilogy – Switched, Torn, and Ascend – are incredibly personal to me. The world I created for Wendy was one populated by things I loved, places I found magical, people I wanted to be friends with, and hopes and fears I struggled with myself.  It’s been an honor to share this world with you and to hear that so many of you have fallen in love with it just as much as I have.

I released the first book in the series, Switched, on July 12, 2010, my twenty-sixth birthday. I’d written it over a year before that, but I’d been unable to find an agent or publisher for it. I believed in Switched and refused to give up on it, so I decided to self-publish. Since then, the three books in the trilogy have gone on to sell over a million copies as digital editions.

It’s because of this and the incredible response I’ve gotten from readers that I’ve decided to partner with a traditional publisher on the Trylle Trilogy. So many of you have already embraced the series, and without your support, I know none of this would’ve happened.  Beginning in early January 2012 with Switched, the trilogy will be released in paperback and as an ebook through St. Martin’s (US) and sister company Macmillan internationally. This means that the series will be available in bookstores and retailers around the world!

As a bonus for fans of the series, I’ve included never-before-seen short stories in each of the books, so you can share in new adventures with the characters you’ve grown to care about. The books also have a few extended scenes going more deeply into the world of the Trylle.

If you’re not familiar with the books, or even if you’ve read them a hundred times, I hope you join us on the next stage of the journey – experiencing Wendy’s trials and tribulations, her loves and losses, for the first time, or all over again.

Thank you!
Amanda
